Beetroot Halwa

Easy peasy beetroot halwa if you have food processor and gulab jamun syrup in hand :-)

Ingredients:

Beetroot - 3 m (skin removed, top and tail off and cut them into wedges and grate in food proceesor)

Cardamom - 6 no. (powder)
Gulab jamun syrup - 8 gartelu (gunta garte)
Ghee - 50 g + 50 g

Proceed:

Heat a deep nonstick kadai, add ghee 50 g once started to melt add grated beet-root and fry for 10 mins.

Add cardamom powder, mix and add gulab jamun syrup, mix well, keep it covered and cook these until all the syrup is absorbed by beet-root and is cooked, it will take 30 mins, make sure you keep stirring in between.

Serve with vanilla ice cream or serve in small steel bowls as a party dish.

hi Rajini garu,
i wanna try this dish..
my husband loves halwa especially beet root..
i uaually try with sugar for sweetness..
as u told i wanna try with gulab jamun syrup..
where do i get that?

and one more request for ur blog..
on ur home page we have google search..
similar to this we like find ur recipe search in ur blog..
i mean if i want to search a particular recipe in quick time its being bit hard to find them quickly (specially when i have no time to search as i have to start my cooking immediately).
it'll be fine if ur blog has quick search option..
key word could not be exact recipe name, similar to that word would be easier..
you know why some blogs can not accept similar word..
it needs exact recipe name to find that..
i hope u understand what i mean..
happy to explain u if u dont..
thanks
regards

Hi Jaanu,

Here gulab jamun syrup is left over from making of gulab jamun. We don't get seperately you need to make gulab jamun first, instead of throwing away the syrup use it in making beetroot halwa.

But don't know how to put exact words that's why I got side bar menu for it for quick look.

Hi Doc,

Good to see your comment. Glad you like it.
