Mealmaker bangaladumpa kura/ Soya nuggets with potato

Ingredients:

Mealmaker/ Soya nuggets - 4 no. handful

Soak these in boiled water for 30 mins and wash these 3 times, squeeze the water out and add little turmeric, mix. Cook these in non-stick pan with 2 tsp oil until water evaporates and keep aside until needed.

Potatoes - 3 no.
(skin removed and chopped in to chunks)

Oil - 3 tbsp
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Onion - 1 m (chopped finely)

Ginger and garlic paste - 1 tsp each
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Chillipowder - 1 tsp
Kashmiri chilli powder - 1 tsp
*Home made masala powder - 2 and 1/2 tsp (please read notes)

Whole tomato tin - 3/4 th tin

Water - 1 and 1/2 glass

Salt to taste
Coriander leaves - a handful

Proceed:

1) Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add onions and saute until golden colour.

2) Add gg paste, fry. add turmeric, chilli powders and masala powder, mix well.

3) Add potatoes and soya nuggets and fry for 1min.

4) Add tomatoes (squashed with your hand and add), cook until mushy.

5) Add water, cover with lid , put weight on and pressure cook for 6-7whistles. Remove the lid when the pressure is down. Add salt and coriander leaves (chopped), mix well and cook until water is reduced, until 5mins to your desired consistency. Check for salt and serve hot.

Serve it with Phulka.

Notes:

1)Home made masala powder (this is same masala powder used in Keema too):

Coriander seeds - 3 tsp, Poppyseeds - 1 tsp, Cinnamon stick - 1 inch, Whole cloves - 6 no., Cardamom - 5 no, star anise - 1 no., Mace - 1 no., grind these in coffee grinder in to fine powder. remaining keep it in air-tight container.

Here I have used small Soya nuggets.

3) MealMaker = Soya nuggets (can be found in Indian groceries, these can be added in rice, small granules can be cooked with cauliflower to make a curry)
